When Natalie joined Istec three years ago, she didn’t expect to find herself shaping the HR and quality processes at a fast-growing technical company. With a background in hospitality, she was searching for a role that allowed for more balance and personal development. What she found at Istec was much more than that: a place where initiative is encouraged, support is genuine, and trust drives progress.
Growing into new responsibilities
Although Natalie started in an administrative role, it quickly became clear that her interests reached further. By expressing her curiosity, she gradually took on more responsibilities.
“Over time, I realised my interests were leaning more toward broader organisational processes,” she recalls. “That’s when I was introduced to our quality management system. At first, it was just procedures. But once I really got into it, I started seeing how the whole company fits together.”
Her eagerness to learn and take initiative opened new doors. “I saw room for improvement in how we handled HR internally,” she explains. “Istec welcomed my ideas and gave me the freedom to shape and improve. Bit by bit, I started building something meaningful, rooted in trust and collaboration.”

A culture built on people and progress
What stands out most to Natalie is Istec’s unique company culture. “We work hard,” she says. “But the people always come first. That’s something I’ve never experienced anywhere else. If something happens in your personal life, that takes priority. And because of that, people are willing to go the extra mile.”
In her current role, Natalie actively contributes to preserving and developing that culture. From the first contact with new applicants to weekly check-ins with colleagues, her approach is personal, transparent, and guided by empathy.
“I want people to feel heard,” she says. “Not just during the hiring process, but also when they’re part of the team. We listen to each other, we adapt, and we grow together. That connection is what makes the culture real.”
Room to grow and keep growing
Personal development is a recurring theme in Natalie’s story. Over the past three years, she’s followed numerous trainings from HR refreshers to export control and system specific courses.
“And I’m not done learning,” she adds. “That’s what I love about my role. There’s always more to explore, and we’re encouraged to take initiative and push forward.”
Looking ahead, Natalie is excited about growing with the company. “We’re not done evolving,” she says. “I look forward to deepening collaboration and continuing to build a culture where people feel respected, empowered, and driven to make an impact.”
